Monkey see, monkey do.
Japanese folklore says the famous Jigokudani monkeys came down from the mountains and observed humans soaking in the hot springs. They began to copy the behaviour and soon other monkeys joined them. The Jigokudani monkeys never left the hot springs and became the only monkeys in the world known to enjoy bathing in an onsen! Monkey see, monkey do.
Snow Monkey Sake
It’s a tale as old as time, an over saturated category, dominated by artificially flavoured ethanol and vodka-based drinks with a curious consumer desperately seeking new flavours and experiences.
We set out across the globe in search of inspiration, and began to reimagine a Japanese Sake for and Australian audience.
…and so Snow Monkey Sake was born.
A fusion of culture, East meets West. We were influenced by Japan but not contained by tradition. Playfully experimenting, we broke all the rules and created a naturally fermented and flavoured sparkling drink, our own expression of Sake.
Snow Monkey Sake enables everyone to taste and experience a uniquely, reimagined flavour experience.

Our Snow Monkey or Jigokudani Monkey as they are known locally, is our brand icon.
He reflects our personality. The perfect fusion of East meets West, Tradition and irreverence. He’s an ancient Japanese onsen monkey, with a laid back Aussie vibe.
Just like our brand, he doesn’t take himself too seriously. He knows the world can feel pretty heavy sometimes so he playfully pokes fun when and where it is needed.
A well timed fart in and onsen always lightens the mood.
